FEATURED INSIGHT💡

ChatGPT now has an App Directory

OpenAI released a beta App Directory inside ChatGPT, allowing users to browse and use third-party apps directly within a conversation. Apps can be accessed from the sidebar or triggered mid-chat by mentioning them by name, bringing external tools into the flow of a single session.

Developers can now submit apps for review through the OpenAI developer platform, with approved apps rolling out gradually in the new year. These apps are designed to extend ChatGPT with context and actions, handling tasks like generating slides, searching listings, or completing workflows that begin as natural language prompts.

Google wants to own your morning briefing

Google is testing an experimental AI agent called CC that sends a personalized “Your Day Ahead” briefing each morning. The agent pulls from Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and the web to summarize your schedule, highlight important updates, and surface tasks that need attention, such as upcoming appointments or pending bills.

CC can also prepare email drafts and calendar links, making it easier to take action directly from the briefing. The system is built on Google’s Gemini model and is designed to learn from user feedback over time. CC is launching in early access to paid subscribers over 18 in the US and Canada, with a waitlist now open.

Oboe raises $16M to turn prompts into guided learning paths

a16z announced a $16M Series A investment in Oboe alongside the launch of its redesigned platform. Oboe transforms a single prompt into a structured, chaptered course that includes text, audio, visuals, quizzes, and flashcards. The goal is to reduce the friction of starting something new by automatically organizing information into a clear learning path rather than leaving users to piece it together themselves.

Waymo appears to be testing Gemini as an in-car assistant

Code discovered in Waymo’s mobile app suggests the company is experimenting with a Gemini-powered ride assistant inside its robotaxis. The assistant is designed to answer rider questions, personalize greetings, and control some in-cabin features like temperature and lighting, while deliberately avoiding discussion of real-time driving behavior or vehicle decision-making.

OpenAI says AI browsers may always be vulnerable to prompt injection attacks

OpenAI acknowledged that prompt injection remains a persistent risk for agentic AI browsers, even as defenses improve. The company says it is focusing on layered security controls, faster response cycles, and reinforcement-learning-based automated attackers that simulate real-world threats to identify weaknesses before they are exploited.

Anthropic open-sources Bloom for behavioral evaluations

Anthropic released Bloom, an open-source framework for generating behavioral evaluations of frontier AI models. Bloom allows researchers to define a specific behavior and automatically generate diverse scenarios to measure how often that behavior appears, rather than relying on fixed test sets that quickly become outdated.

The system runs a multi-stage pipeline that creates scenarios, executes multi-turn rollouts, and scores results using judge models, producing metrics like elicitation rate. Bloom is designed to help alignment researchers move faster while keeping evaluations reproducible through configuration seeds.
